Ayurveda
The "science of life" is India's natural healing system.
It is a holistic science, more than 5,000 years old, believed to
be the oldest healing therapy in existence. In Ayurveda, we address
prevention of ill health, longevity and natural healing. Four different
body treatments are available: Suci Dhara, Chakra Dhara, Shiro Lepa
and Facial Lepa.
Suci Dhara
"Suci" in Indonesian translates as awakening and balancing
the body, heart and soul. A scalp massage to improve circulation,
relaxing muscle and nerve fibres commences the treatment. It continues
with warm herbal oils rhythmically dripped onto the forehead for
mental relaxation and clarity. Then a warm herbal oil body massage
aids in detoxification and nourishes the nervous system. One finishes
with a steam bath and an herbal dosha tea. Restorative, warming
and balancing care for total well-being.
Traditional Oil
Treatment
This is the secret to the lustrous and healthy hair for which
Balinese women are known. Fresh coconut oil infused with pandanus
leaf, fenugreek seeds, sandalwood and cinnamon is used to stimulate
blood circulation. The treatment includes a shampoo before the
oil is massaged into the hair and scalp. Balinese massage strokes
for the neck and shoulders are included to enhance relaxation.
This oil may be left on the hair for three to four hours for deep
conditioning before washing. Combine this treatment with other
spa therapies or just relax beside your villa's private plunge
pool.
Chakra Dhara
We seek to restore dosha (the individual's constitution) and chakra
(energy points) balance by dripping herbal oil on four key energy
points along the central nervous system. A back, scalp, hand and
foot massage is performed first by two therapists to clear any
toxic blockages and to receive the healing and restorative properties
of the flow of oil onto the chakras.
Shiro
Lepa
This herbal scalp treatment commences with an Ayurvedic back and
scalp massage to improve circulation to the head, relaxing muscle
and nerve fibres. An herbal lepa (mask) is then applied to regulate
scalp disorders and dry hair. It refreshes the mind and body,
relieving tension and fatigue.
|
Facials
All refreshing facials include deep aromatic cleansing, exfoliation,
and massage of the face, neck, shoulders and hands. A revitalising
mask and moisturisers using botanicals and essential oils nourish,
hydrate and balance the skin. Sari Sayan and Earth Element facials
are available. |
Sari
Sayan
Essences of mountain botanicals, healing clays and fragrant flowers,
combined with herbal preparations, add to the benefits of aromatherapy.
|
Earth
Elements
This holistic facial is based upon the principles of balancing the
earth, air, fire and water elements of nature within our bodies.
A unique and refreshing facial, suitable for all skin types. |
Facial
Lepa
The purpose of this traditional Ayurvedic facial is to detoxify
and nourish the skin. The skin is first cleansed with an herbal
exfoliant, then hydrated with an herbal lepa (mask). The mind is
cooled and calmed with the addition of shirodhara (pouring oil)
on the third eye, which tones and nourishes the skin.
